(1) When something had already happened at a time in the past, we use "Past Perfect Tense".

For example 例如：

Yesterday at 8:45 pm: Amy finished her homework.
Yesterday at 9:00 pm: Amy's mother came home.
Amy had done her homework when her mother came home at nine o'clock yesterday.

Note:
; h/ c1 D# K* ]4 dFrom the above examples, you can see we often use Past Tense with Past Perfect Tense.

We always use "had" for all subjects (i.e. I, We, You, They, He, She, It).
